Historicals here. The books are what made me fall in love with the AG dolls. I love historical fiction.
I love them both! I have loved the historical books since I was really little...but the Today line is really great too. [img]graemlins/heart.gif[/img] [img]graemlins/heart.gif[/img]
I prefer the historicals ( although i do love both) Becuase with the historicals there are soo many neat things you can do with them! Like you can use them for teaching purposes and they are really neat to do displays for. Also for younger audinces I think there is a lot more play with with them then the now day girls. Plus I really enjoy reading there books and learning about what kind of personality each one of them has.
About a week ago I would have said historicals hands down, but I am so in love with my new agt (25). I don't think I would pick one over the other, but agts just went up tons of points in my book
HISTORICALS! But if I do get an AGOT, she becomes a historical immediatly! Such as Jane Hart, she was from the 30's.
Historicals, as I feel the books are the core of the AG collection. I think a doll that has an established character (and one that you can learn something from) is so much more fullfilling.
But the AGT dolls are a lot of fun as well!
Maybe it's because I got into this long before there were today dolls, and certainly before the company focused so much on them, but I have to say my preference is definetly on the Historicals.
I like both of them.
I used to prefer the historicals, but I think that was because the dolls had such variety to their looks whereas the AGT's used to all have very similar looks. Since they've been introducing a greater variety into the Today line I like them both equally.
I used to like both, but have since decided I only like the historical doll collections. I'm really "into" history and miniatures. To me now, the AGTs are just modern dolls and not really anything special--I prefer other lines for modern dolls, like My Twinn and Waldorf. The historical dolls are just so unique and fun! I love the stories and how they bring history to life for children.
